When you are travelling, there are a couple of things that make your journey easier. First of all, if you know a little about the language of the place you find yourself in, things do not seem so difficult to understand. Secondly, if you have a GPS, then navigating anywhere is infinitely easier.

What if I were to tell you that no matter where you go, anywhere on this earth, there is one very important language that every single one of us shares? And that you already have an internal GPS that is plugged into an operating system so powerful that there is literally nowhere in the Universe it does not cover?

No matter where you find yourself, in whatever situation or circumstance, wouldn’t it be lovely to know that you are in exactly the right place, and are exactly where you are supposed to be? Had I known this 16 years ago when I found myself living in a foreign country, pregnant and unable to speak the language, my life would have been so much easier. 16 years ago, almost to the day, I arrived in Belgium with my husband to begin the next chapter of our adventure.

I know all about arriving in a strange place, not understanding how things work or how to ask for help. But then, so do you. If you are reading this, then you are proof that you too know because your soul, old and wise beyond years, chose to experience life on the planet you first encountered as a newborn baby.

For many years, I have been a language tutor - guiding and instructing people in how to speak English. Yet, for a lot longer than that, I realise that I have been both a student and tutor in another language that is far easier to learn: heart language.
